Approved contractor schemes
A contractor must have personnel that are familiar with the Building Regulations, BS 8102:2009 - Code of Practice for Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water from the Ground and other relevant industry documents.
- All work should be carried out to the contract requirements.
- All completed work should be of good quality.
- All work should be carried out in the order most likely to lead to a satisfactory job.
- Work should be carried out in a manner to minimise inconvenience to others.
- Members should advise clients on safety issues associated with their required work and when planning consent or building regulations approval is required.
- Contractors must hold Public and Product liability insurance and Employers liability insurance.
- All contractors must offer to provide access to insurance that protects any longterm guarantees that are issued, pre payments that are taken and work that is in progress.
- The contractor should operate a quality control system that is auditable.
